We needed a new lampshade and I saw this one in the kids section at Wilkinsons and fell in love! It's so cute and not too overly girlie but looks lovely in our bedroom and with the cot.
The cot has been set up a while but I bought this lovely 'Sweet Dreams' nursery garland from a designer called Gisela Graham-I also have some of her wedding bits and they have a lovely rustic homemade feel. It goes well with the wall colour. When she is born I would like to put a personalised framed picture on the wall and I may put up some scan pictures if I can find the right frame!
Definitely not a necessity but I have a lovely little collection of baby shoes/booties-they probably won't get worn much but who cares when they are this cute?!
The moses basket is all ready to go too and I got this gorgeous soft white blanket for £4 in a shop called Fara Kids. We have a few blankets as she will be born in the Autumn/Winter time and want her to be nice and snuggly!
I have a drawer underneath the changing area full of little sleepsuits (a mixture of things that people have bought/given/we have bought) as well as a few tights/leggings/hats/bibs etc.
We are using the top of our chest of drawers as a little changing area as it has handy drawers underneath for nappies/baby wipes etc. However I am a bit concerned about having it next to the radiator although we never have it on really. We may just end up using the changing mats on the floor/bed!
This baby bath support is lovely and is good for newborns to keep them supported in the bath. It's from Mama's and Papas and has little suction pads on the bottom to keep it still. We also have about 4 baby towels!
Her little toy box is now full! We have got lots of lovely little rattles, teething rings, toys etc although I don't know how much they'll get used initially and they probably be better when she is a little older.
In terms of essential things still to get, we have the buggy and sling still to get. Also a breast pump (waiting to get this-I am definitely hoping to breastfeed but would like to express some too), a steriliser, a cot mobile, wardrobe for her clothes and of course lots and lots of NAPPIES!!
xoxo
